Glasgow police announced they will conduct traffic safety checkpoints within the city limits of Glasgow.
The checkpoints will take place beginning on June 6 and ending June 30. Locations include, but are not limited to, Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Hwy. and Happy Valley Road.
During the safety checkpoints, officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint, and motor vehicle equipment violations, according to the police department.
At the same time, the Kentucky State Police reminds people of their traffic safety checkpoints in “known problematic areas.” The Kentucky State Police Post 3 serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.

- US 31W at the Edmonson Co. Line
- US 31W at the Hart Co. Line
- US 31W and Ky 255
- US 31E and Jack Turner Road
- US 68 and Ky 255 (Bon Ayr)
- Ky 70 and Ky 314
- Ky 70 and Ky 255
- Ky 70 and Ky 740 (Hiseville)
- Ky 1846 and Old Lexington Road
- Ky 249, ½ mile South of Glasgow limits
- Ky 249 at the Monroe Co. line
“Traffic Safety Checkpoints are a valuable tool used to promote the safety and well-being of the public as well as providing police with visibility and interaction within the community, the Glasgow police stated. “Checkpoints are utilized throughout the Commonwealth to help promote highway safety.”
