‘They must always be remembered’: Glasgow community honors fallen veterans

First Lieutenant Cody Edwards served as the main speaker during the Memorial Day ceremony on May 26 at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. He talks about the duty and bravery of those in the Armed Forces, especially those who gave “the last full measure of devotion.” Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1

First Lieutenant Cody Edward was born in Summer Shade. He attended both Glasgow and Barren County high schools, graduating in 2010. In 2017 he joined the Kentucky National Guard. Edwards in also a trooper with the Kentucky State Police Post 3. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1

During the ceremony, two Patriot Awards were given to Jay Harville, who served 14 months in Vietnam and earned a bronze star for bravery in Cambodia, and Charles “Bear” Logsdon (pictured here), who served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1
