There will be a preliminary hearing in an attempted murder case in district court Thursday, May 29.
Fifty-eight-year-old Shane Reece of Glasgow appeared via Zoom in the Barren County District Courtroom for his arraignment on May 22 at 12:30 p.m. He was arrested by Glasgow police on May 20 for allegedly shooting a woman, whose name has not been released, setting fire to a bedroom of a duplex on McGrah Avenue. He is charged with with attempted murder-domestic violence, first-degree arson, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and torture of a dog or cat.
All five of his charges are felonies, according to district judge Gabe Pendleton.
“Do you want to waive your case to a grand jury or do you want a preliminary hearing?” Pendleton asked.
“I want my lawyer,” Reece replied.
The arraignment lasted less than two minutes. Pendleton set Reece’s preliminary hearing for May 29 at 1 p.m.
