The solar farm ordinance, a sports complex contract, and several invoices lead the Barren County Fiscal Court May 20 agenda.

The seven county magistrates will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Barren County Government Building. After the usual public official and department reports, a familiar subject appears on the agenda.

Ordinance 695, the solar farm ordinance places additional requirements on future solar developments within Barren County. The ordinance was had a first reading at the April 29 court meeting where it passed by a 4 to 3 vote with an amendment by Magistrate Tim Coomer that allows nonparticipating landowners to agree to a closer setback than the 1,000 feet outlined in the ordinance.

The solar ordinance amendment was provided by the Barren Count Fiscal Court Clerk.

A contract with Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects for the sports complex is also scheduled for approval, according to the agenda. A copy of that contract has not yet been provided.
