Jeffrey Dugard was sentenced to 15 years for second-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief.
At his circuit court appearance this week, Dugard pleaded guilty to his charges in front of judge John Alexander. In addition to his jail time, he is required to pay $3,127 in restitution, which will be paid in $50 monthly payments after his release. Dugard also had two counts of third-degree criminal trespassing, which Alexander said would be dismissed as part of Dugard’s guilty plea.
In November 2024, Dugard was arrested by Glasgow police at the Lessenberry Do It Center. Initially, he was indicted on a charge of third-degree arson but he was reindicted by a Barren County grand jury increasing the charge’s severity to second-degree arson. Second-degree arson is a class B felony whereas third-degree arson is a class D felony.
Alexander said the commonwealth opposed probation.
