Clessie Rondall Claiborne, 85, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Holland, KY native was a retired employee of Detrex and Peterbilt, a security guard for General Electric and U.S. Army veteran having worked at the Fort Bragg military police station. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church for 60 years where he served as a former deacon and charter member of The Core. He was a son of the late Harvey Newton Claiborne, Sr. and Zora Lamon Snider Claiborne and husband of the late Nina Raye Calvert Claiborne.
He is survived by 1 son: Rondall Scott Claiborne, Scottsville, KY;
2 daughters: Vickie Phillips (Doug) and Christal Claiborne Atwood (Wesley), all of Scottsville, KY;
1 sister-in-law: Sue Claiborne, Hendersonville, TN;
4 grandchildren: Derrick Pearson (April), Kyle Pearson (Jacquline), Bailey Brown and Atley (A.J.) Atwood;
4 great grandchildren: Kylie Rae Pearson, Kendallyn Pearson (Xander), Johnny Pearson and Slade Riggs;
2 great great grandchildren: Selma Eaton and Keanu Kitchens;
7 other step great and great great grandchildren: Presley, Nacona, Bre, Brayden, Payton, Jackson and Timmy;
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister: Estelle Claiborne Driver and 8 brothers: Harvey, Jr., Charlie, Leslie, Domie, Genie Ray, Duel, Earl and Jim Claiborne.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip Rogers and Bro. Jimmy David Claiborne officiating and burial in Cedar Cross Cemetery with military honors by Ft. Campbell. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 7:00 A.M. Friday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
