Several people and businesses were recognized for their contributions to Barren County during Barren Inc’s Achievement in Business Awards.

The event Willow Oaks Golf Club honored recipients across five categories, including Administrative Professional of the Year, Farmer of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Magnolia Award, and Small Business Person of the Year.

Nancy Griffin was awarded the Administrative Professional of the Year for her work as executive support specialist at T.J. Regional Health.

“She consistently goes above and beyond her role, anticipating needs, managing complex tasks with ease, and providing critical support with grace and positivity,” a Barren Inc press release stated. “Her exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to foster a welcoming, productive environment make her an invaluable asset to her team.”

The Farmer of the Year Award, sponsored by Barren County Farm Bureau Federation, was presented to Carl B. Franklin.

This award was created to show appreciation to Barren County’s local agriculture community.

“Carl has dedicated his life to agriculture, exemplifying resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to his craft,” a release stated. “As the steward of a 5-generation, 600-acre farm in Park City, Carl officially took over operations in 1992 but has been farming since childhood. Even after a life-altering injury in 1979, his determination never faltered—he continued to farm with grit and ingenuity.”

The Small Business of the Year sponsored by German American Bank, was presented to Replica Screenprinting.

This award recognizes a small business that has demonstrated exceptional growth, innovation, and community involvement.

“Female-owned and anchored in downtown Cave City, Replica has earned national recognition for its high-end design, premium products, and industry-leading halftone printing,” the release stated. “From launching impactful campaigns during the pandemic to supporting local revitalization efforts through BLDG and Cave City Cars & Coffee, Replica Screenprinting blends innovation with community spirit. Their success is built on heart, hustle, and hometown pride.”

Magnolia Award winner Barren County Assistant Superintendent Cortni Crews, and Small Business Person of the Year recipient Nicole Rock gave brief remarks, thanking the people in their lives who helped them along the way and highlighting the school district and Golden Gate Bridges respectively.

These awards had been previously announced.
