The Caverna Independent School District Board of Education will meet Thursday, May 8, at 5 p.m. at the Caverna Central Office to discuss a range of items including the possible budget for the upcoming school year, school calendar changes, and a list of students on track to graduate.
Superintendent Amanda Abell will present student and staff recognitions before board members move into a series of consent items, including reports from the treasurer, bus inspections, grants, and school-wide field trip approvals.
Among the most notable items on the agenda is the approval of the 2024-2025 Caverna High School graduation list, which features over 40 students projected to meet academic requirements. The board will also vote on proposed amendments to the school calendar due to non-traditional instruction days, and the opening of five German American Bank credit cards — two for district use and one per school.
Other items slated for discussion include approval of the 2025-2026 tentative budget, capital fund requests, audit services for the fiscal year ending June 30, and the closeout of the BG5 construction form. A closed session is also scheduled to discuss proposed litigation, as permitted under KRS 61.810.
The meeting is open to the public, with time allotted for public comment near the start of the agenda.
