It took an epic seventh-inning rally and waiting out a weather delay, but Barren County improved to 4-0 in 15th District baseball action with a sweep of Allen County-Scottsville.
In the first game — played Monday — the Trojans posted six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Patriots 10-9.
Barren entered the bottom half of the final frame down five runs. Gavin Coffey — who also capped the run — started things with a lead-off single. Axel Dysholm doubled and drove in Coffey. Aiden Keeney reached base on an error, and Dysholm scored on the play.
The lead was down to three.
After an out, Price Thompson singled to move Jax Vincent to second. Vincent was running for Keeney. Cameron Crawford entered for Thompson.
Jordan Harris drove in Vincent with a double to center field. The lead was down to two runs. Crawford moved to third.
JP Hyde followed and hit a single to center field that drove in both Harris and Crawford, and tied the game.
Jackson Reece next came to the plate and hit a single that moved JP Hyde to third. The Patriots intentionally walked Sutton Hyde to load the bases, and to set up a potential double play.
That set up Coffey for his second visit to the plate in the inning. He fouled off the first pitch, then drove a single to center field that drove in JP Hyde for the winning run.
Coffey went 3-for-4 at the plate, drove in two runs and scored two runs. Dysholm, Harris and JP Hyde each posted two hits. Sutton Hyde had a home run in the game, while Reece and Thompson each had a hit.

In the second game on Tuesday, Barren jumped ahead 2-0 in the top of the first inning and did not look back.
Vincent led off with a single, then scored on a double by Reece. Sutton Hyde reached base on an error.
A double play followed before Sutton Hyde scored on a ball that Dysholm hit that was misplayed by Allen County.
The Trojans added two more runs in the top of the sixth to take a 4-1 lead.
Crawford pitched six innings, allowed six hits and struck out six. Sutton Hyde closed the bottom of the seventh inning and struck out two.
Coffey and Thompson each had two hits for Barren, while Vincent, Reece, Dysholm, Keeney and Harris each posted a hit.
