One person was transported to the hospital after a tree fell on a house during a storm Tuesday night.
Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Terry Flatt said trees fell in at least three locations in the city during the storm. One fell on the roof of a house on Wedgewood Drive, one fell on a vehicle on North Race Street, and the other tree clipped an attached carport at a house on Villa Park.
Glasgow Fire Chief Lucas Tinsley said there was one person in the Wedgewood Drive residence who claimed to have been hit on the head as a result of the fallen tree. The tree fell across the roof of the house. Tinsley said firefighters checked the individual at the scene and Barren-Metcalfe EMS confirmed they were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital. There were no injuries reported on North Race Street or on Villa Park.
Flatt also said there were a few downed power lines that night, but Tinsley said the fire department was not called to any downed power lines across a road.
