Aaron Wright is set to be sentenced to four years in jail in just under two weeks from now.
Wright appeared in the Barren County Circuit Courtroom on April 21 and entered a guilty plea in his 2024 criminal case of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. As Commonwealth’s Attorney John Gardner explained, the court decided to go ahead and sentence him in his 2025 case as well since he also entered a guilty plea.
For third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking (less than $500) and third-degree criminal mischief Wright will be sentenced to three years, a $1,000 fine and court costs, according to his guilty plea. In his 2025 case Wright pleaded guilty to third-degree assault of a peace officer, resisting arrest and third-degree fleeing or evading police and will be sentenced to one year, a $1,000 fine and court costs, according to his 2025 guilty plea.
His two cases, and their sentences, will run consecutively; meaning he will be sentenced to four years in all. His sentencing is set for May 12 at 10 a.m.
Melissa Netherton was also arrested in Park City along with Wright after the pair fled Barren County sheriff’s deputies in February. Netherton’s arraignment is set for May 12 at 10 a.m.
Netherton was released from the Barren County Detention Center on April 23. Her bond was set at $1,500, 10 percent cash.
