The Barren County Board of Education was approved for funds to expand its agricultural education livestock facility by Kentucky’s Agricultural Development Board.
This project is part of the nearly $1.4 million approved for “agricultural diversification and rural development projects across the commonwealth.”
“The projects awarded today help weave a vibrant patchwork of agricultural diversity across Kentucky,” said Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture and Kentucky Agricultural Development Board Chair Jonathan Shell. “With each investment, the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board is helping build a stronger, more resilient, and prosperous future for our farm families and communities.”
Barren’s school district was approved for $212,675 in multicounty funds “to expand its agriculture education livestock facility to include a USDA meat processing component,” according to the release.
