Numerous Barren County roads remain closed due to damage caused by the weekend’s severe weather.

In the past three days, the Kentucky Mesonet reported Barren County received 5.19 inches of precipitation. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear recently announced that 11 people died as a result of the severe weather.

The severe weather may have left Barren County but its impact remains. Deputy Barren County Judge-Executive Garland Gilliam said bridges and low-water fords at Oil Well Road, Tracy Road, Ritters Mill, Happy Hollow Road, Glover Road and Payne Loop are closed and will need repairs.

“Each one is different,” Gilliam wrote in a text message, referring to the damage. “We don’t have quotes yet on any of that it’s way too early.”

Use caution when traveling.
