The Caverna Independent School District Board of Education will meet Thursday, Feb. 13, at 5 p.m. at the Caverna Central Office, where members will review a range of financial and operational matters, including the approval of an SRO contract and a financial audit for fiscal year 2024.
Key action items include the approval of BG-1 documentation for tennis court renovations, the review of the school calendar for the 2025-26 academic year, and the discussion of potentially rescheduling the Oct. 9 board meeting due to fall break.
The board is also expected to revisit the district’s agreement regarding its School Resource Officer. The discussion follows ongoing efforts to finalize the contract between Caverna Schools and local law enforcement, which has seen adjustments in funding and responsibilities over time. In previous meetings, Superintendent Amanda Abell noted that the cost of the position had increased, with the district working to ensure the role remains sustainable while continuing to prioritize student safety.
The meeting is open to the public, and community members will have an opportunity for public comment early in the session.
