Two injured in 18-wheeler collision on Scottsville Road

Two people were injured in a collision between two semi-tractor trailers Wednesday afternoon. The two commercial vehicles collided at about 4 p.m. The roadway was closed for more than two hours.

“We opened the road at 6:15,” said Barren County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Mike Houchens. The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 31-E (Scottsville Road) and Pritchardsville Road in front of Mark Miller Marine.

Houchens said one of the trucks also struck Furlong Import/Domestics, which is on the northbound side of the roadway. He said the names of the injured was not available, but it was one person from each vehicle.

More information about the extent of injuries and the cause of the crash will be made available when the accident scene report is completed.

That one-and-a-quarter mile stretch of highway had an annual average daily traffic count of 12,113 vehicles in 2023, according to information on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s website.
