Park City Elementary wins District 29 Governor’s Cup

Park City Elementary recently won the District 29 Governor’s Cup, according to a social media post from the school and official results from the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition website. Hiseville Elementary students also placed at the event, with their team taking second overall and top honors in the Future Problem Solving event. 

Several students from Park City captured first place in individual competitions: Trandall Borders in Science; Isabella Goodman, Social Studies; Charli Vincent, Language Arts; and Kirbie Bonnema tied for first in Composition.

Hiseville’s Sophia Warren placed first in Arts and Humanities, with Isabella Dandurand tying for first in Composition.

In addition to placing runners-up in Future Problem Solving and Quick Recall (falling to Edmonson County), Park City students finished with the following individual results: Trandall Borders, third in Mathematics; Bennett Green, second in Social Studies and third in Science: Annalise Payne, third in Language Arts; Charli Vincent, second, Arts and Humanities; Silas Bonifay, third in Arts and Humanities and fifth in Language Arts; Isabella Goodman, third, Composition; and Lily Richardson, fifth in Arts and Humanities.

Hiseville students came back with the following individual awards: Grayson Coots, second in Math and fifth in Composition; Isabella Dandurand, second in Language Arts; Willow Layton, second in Science; Bailey Hensley, fourth, Science; Brooklyn Poynter, fourth in Language Arts and fifth in social studies; Aleigha Lee, fourth, Arts and Humanities; and Damien Johnson, fourth in Composition.

Overall standings

1. Park City Elementary – 54.5

2. Hiseville Elementary – 41.5

3. Edmonson County 5-6 Center – 20
