The Kentucky Department of Education seeks public comments on its draft Kentucky Academic Standards for Reading and Writing.
Standards outline what students are expected to learn in each grade to successfully transition to the next level of learning. The curriculum, including the instructional methods and resources used to teach the standards, is a separate issue and is determined at the local level.
Feedback on the draft reading and writing standards will be collected by American Institutes for Research through March 5.
