The Park City City commissioners are set to convene for its next meeting on Feb. 3, at 6 p.m. in city hall, where they will discuss tourist board appointments, the usage of the city’s senior building, and details for its concert in the park series for 2025.
Among the new business items, the commission will consider two municipal orders that propose the removal of Shari Harper and Rickey Carey from the city’s tourist commission, with Kim Nunn and April Arms recommended as replacements. Also on the agenda is a discussion about forgiving a lien on East 1st Street and the appointment of commissioners’ duties, including a mayor pro-tempore that would serve in the absence of the mayor.
Commissioners are also expected to discuss the use of the senior building, a community space that could see potential changes in programming or accessibility. Additionally, officials will deliberate on the town’s concerts in the park, which could indicate plans for expanding entertainment and tourism efforts in the area.
A notable discussion item involves a letting being written to the Barren County Board of Education about concerns of unequal treatment of students by administration.
The commission has also scheduled a closed session under KRS 61.810 to deliberate on the future acquisition or sale of real property, where confidentiality is required due to the potential impact on property values.
Following official business, the floor will be opened for public comment, providing residents with an opportunity to voice their thoughts on local governance and community matters.
