Drivers are urged to stay home if possible as roads become hazardous due to the accumulation of ice and snow.
Roads in Barren County are becoming “white covered and hazardous,” according to Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management in a social media post Sunday morning.
“We have had several vehicles slide off the road and an accident on the parkway,” the post states. “Please stay home if you can.”

A Kentucky State Police cruiser was hit on Sunday on I-65 in Hart County and the trooper is receiving medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSP.
“This is why we are asking you TO STAY HOME and avoid travel,” KSP stated.
The Glasgow Police Department responded to a non-injury wreck Sunday morning around Exit 8 on the Cumberland Parkway, according to GPD.
“Please use extreme caution if you must travel,” the GPD stated. “The roads are slick and hazardous.”

Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency Saturday evening “ahead of a severe winter storm set to affect much of the commonwealth.”
“This winter storm will likely cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions on our roads and could cause significant power outages — just 24 hours before it gets dangerously cold,” Beshear said in a press release. “We care about every Kentucky family and those traveling through our great state, and we want to make sure everyone has the information and resources needed to stay safe.”
