The Barren County Fiscal Court unanimously approved a lease agreement with Barren County’s Board of Education for use of some of the school district’s baseball fields during the Tuesday morning meeting.
The agreement is the same one approved by the school district at its November board of education meeting. The 12-month nonexclusive lease specifies that the county can use the fields at Eastern and Red Cross elementaries from 5 to 9 p.m., but excluded the fields at North Jackson Elementary.
This is the same agreement the county and school district have had for several years. Former youth league coach Toby Pentecost discussed the agreement to members of the county Parks and Recreation Committee in October 2023, which caused a reevaluation of the agreement.
