Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Resa Gardner told a court Monday she is close to an agreement on a double-shooting case. Gardner, in Barren Circuit Court, said she had spoken with the victims of the shooting in which Kevin Abner is charged.
Abner was in court as well for the pretrial conference on Dec. 16. He is charged with shooting Anthony Wheat and Shane Wheat in the driveway of a house on Park City-Glasgow Road. Abner, 59, told police when he was arrested on March 17, 2024, he believed his daughter was being held at the residence against her will.
His next court appearance was set for Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
