Clovis Joe Cornwell, 84, passed away Tuesday, Wednesday 26, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Joe was born in Monroe County, KY, on April 14, 1940, a son of the late Clovis “Jack” and Margaret (Brandon) Cornwell.
Joe was a retired middle school teacher for the Allen County School district. He attended and was a deacon of Fountain Run First Baptist Church.
Joe is survived by his wife, Nancy (Landrum) Cornwell, of Fountain Run, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Jo and Tony Houchens, of Glasgow, KY; granddaughter, Kaemyn Houchnes (Jackson Mutter), of Glasgow, KY; sisters, Marie Solomon, of Princeton, IN, Glenith Morrison, and husband, Bobby Wayne of Fountain Run, KY, Betty Crabtree, and husband, Jerry of Hendersonville, TN and Becky Pitcock of Fountain Run, KY, sister-in-law, Brenda Johnson of Glasgow, KY.
Joe is preceded in death by sisters, Lee Hughes Maine, Emma Welch, and Brenda Olliver; infant brother, Delbert Cornwell, brothers-in-law, Bob Maine, Larry Pitcock and Billy Welch, Dave Solomon and Leory Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at Fountain Run Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m, with Bro. Robbie Perkins and Bro. Eric Copass officiating. Burial to follow at Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 2-8 p.m., with masonic services beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to Fountain Run First Baptist Church of Fountain Run Cemetery.
