Paul Lewis Bruton II entered a plea of not guilty on charges of torturing a dog. He was arrested by the Glasgow Police Department on Sept. 9.

Bruton was indicted by a Barren County grand jury on Oct. 16 with a cash bond of $5,000 on charges of torturing a dog when he, according to the police citation, took a military knife and stabbed the family dog.

A roommate later showed the officers the location of the buried dog and the remains were taken to BRAWA.

He was also charged as being a persistent felony offender due to the fact he has indictments of fourth degree domestic violence, third degree burglary and receiving a stolen firearm in Barren, Edmonson and Hart counties.

His pretrial conference is set for Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.
