The Arrive Alive Tour is coming to Barren County High School on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 for a two-day event “dedicated to combating impaired and distracted driving…using the nation’s only marijuana driving simulator.”

The high-tech simulator allows participants to experience driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, and distractions without real-world risks. This hands-on experience provides teens a powerful reminder of the dangers involved in impaired and distracted driving.

Kentucky currently faces a significant teen driver fatality rate, with 72.4 deaths per 100,000 drivers, the highest in the country for the second consecutive year.

Teen drivers are three times more likely to be involved in fatal crashes than drivers over the age of 20, with distraction as a leading cause. Young drivers aged 16-20 are 17 times more likely to die in a crash when their blood alcohol content is .08% or higher.

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, along with sponsor Debra L. Broz, Attorney at Law, is committed to reducing these tragic incidents. They aim to empower teens to make safer choices through educational programs like the Arrive Alive Tour that reinforce the importance of sober and focused driving.

UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour is recognized as the nation’s leading awareness event for impaired and distracted driving prevention.
