The city of Glasgow may soon become “unaffordable” by 2025, according to a list compiled by GOBankingRates, a self-proclaimed industry leader in personal finance content.

The list compares the total annual cost of living, which, according to the methodology, was sourced from real-estate website Sperling’s Best Places, the average value of a single family home, median income and the subsequent leftover savings. The methodology also states cities with median household incomes that are above the cost of living were kept for this study “as they represent places that are still currently affordable.”

According to GOBankingRates, the average household median income for Glasgow is $44,125 and the annual cost of living is $34,174, which leaves leftover savings at $9,951. The list also states the average value of a single-family house is $195,953.

Out of the 20 southern cities listed, Glasgow has a “leftover savings” greater than 16 of those featured on the list. Using this figure Egypt Lake-Leto, Florida, at $264, ranks at the bottom.
