Dale Johnson, age 70 of Franklin, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at his residence. Visitation will be from 12pm until 8pm Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Crafton Funeral Home. A native of Sumner County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Garnett Odell Johnson and Barbara Harris Johnson Estes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters – Sandra Keen, Toni Hicks and Ann Johnson, by brothers – Mark Johnson and Steve Johnson; step father – David Estes and father in law – Bill Cox. Dale was an avid Alabama football fan and loved drag racing and cars.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years – Kathy Cox Johnson of Franklin; son – J.D. Johnson; brother – Johnnie Johnson (Debbie) of Franklin; grandchildren – Sadie Holcomb (Matt), Seth Johnson (Kelsey) and Tiffany Johnson; great grandchildren – Makenna, Oliver, Caid, Jace and Maddi; mother in law – Jean Cox; sisters in law – Pam Clegg (David) and Kristy Hampton (Dave); brother in law – Pat Cox; several aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews along with his drag racing family.
The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Simpson County Animal Shelter, 2194 Ditmore Rd., Franklin, KY 42134 and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
