Leonard Wilson Sears III

Leonard (Len) Wilson Sears III, aged 60, a beloved father, partner, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by his longtime partner and friends.

A graduate of Bowling Green High School (1982) and the University of Kentucky (1986), Len was known for his gregarious and fun-loving nature, as well as his intelligence. Outside of his professional life spent helping caregivers and patients, he was a passionate sports enthusiast, known for his competitive spirit and love of tennis, football, basketball, and golf. He was also a staunch supporter of his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Len’s kindness and generosity were admired by all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a true friend to many.

Len leaves behind a loving family, including his sons Avery Davis and Luke Wilson Sears; significant other Heather Priest Deaton; mother Mary Carol Sears; father Leonard Wilson Sears Jr (Brenda); brothers Joseph David Sears (Catherine), Jesse (Jay) Sears (Tara), and James Matthew Sears; and nieces and nephews, Caroline, David, Zach, Hudson Sears, Jack Lundy, and “step daughters” Madison, Whitney, and Sarah Deaton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association and The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy.

The family will have visitation on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4:00 ~ 7:00 pm with a Rosary service at 6:30 pm, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green, KY. Friday visitation at the church will be from 9:00 ~ 11:00 am follow by the funeral Mass at 11:00 am. We invite all of Len’s friends and loved ones to join us in celebrating his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
