Joseph Donald Pruitt, Jr. passed away peacefully September 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Donald Pruitt, Sr. and Gloria Pruitt. Joe was an avid “Car Guy” and for 17 years, he and his wife, Vera, owned National Corvette Homecoming. He loved putting on the annual shows and over the years, many thousand Corvette enthusiasts attended and enjoyed the cars and the fellowship. He and Vera went on many trips and adventures, making lasting friendships and memories. He is survived by the many friends of the Corvette community he made over the years He was also a licensed insurance agent for 42 years and was most recently with Life of Alabama in Gadsden, Alabama.
Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vera, sister, Rita Lawrence (Jerry), son, Curtis Pruitt (Dawn), nephew, Rodney Lawrence. Granddaughters, Zoe Pruitt and Emily Coco of Denham Springs, LA. He is also survived by Vera’s children, Jack Hodges (Donetta), Jenny Constant, Laurel Bowman (Scott), all of Nashville, TN. Five Grandchildren, Dr. Jon Constant (Jessica), Beau Constant (Paige), Kara Hodges-Warren (Jon), Jacklyn Hodges (Jacob), and Isabella Bowman. Five Great-Grandchildren, Aiden, Nova, Abel and Zephyr Constant, and Kate Hodges-Warren.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Cremation was chosen. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held, at a later date, with an open house in his and Vera’s home. Everyone will be welcome to attend, so we can tell stories about the many good times we had with Joe.
