Glasgow man, Paul Bruton, 48, has been arrested and charged with torturing a dog, following a call from a concerned roommate.

According to a uniform citation, a Glasgow police officer questioned the roommate, who told authorities Bruton had cut the side of his neck with a knife and was not seeking retribution, but rather, that he was afraid of Bruton.

The caller also told police that on the same evening Bruton sliced his neck, he had stabbed his dog to death, and wrapped it in old carpet before placing it in the backyard.

When questioned, Bruton said the dog had behaved viciously towards him and did not deny killing it. However, the caller said he’d never witnessed aggressive behavior from the dog.

The dog’s remains were taken as evidence.
