Dorothy Ann Jones of the Mell Community of Metcalfe County and formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William D. Franke and Dorothy M. Watts Coleman, was born on Friday, December 22, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2024. She was 84 years, 8 months, and 17 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and attended Fry Baptist Church. She was a veteran having served in the United States Army as a WAC Medic, a retired C.N.A., a member of the D.A.V., Red Hat Society, volunteer at Taylor Regional Hospital and former volunteer for Hosparus.
She united in marriage to Kenneth R. Jones, Sr. on June 4, 1960 in Ft. Dix, New Jersey, who preceded her in death on August 16, 2002.
Survivors include a son: Kenneth R. Jones, Jr. of Campbellsville; a daughter and son-in-law: Deanna L. and Kenneth Jolly of Edmonton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ms. Jones was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: David William Franke and Ester Mae Dickman.

The funeral services for Dorothy Ann Jones will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Adam Lawson officiating.
Visitation is requested after 9:00 A.M., Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Alzheimer’s Association, which can be made at the funeral home.
