In addition to the regularly scheduled meeting of Glasgow‘s City Council Monday night, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall. This hearing has been scheduled to hear comments from the public regarding the proposed 2024 tax rates on real and personal property.

New business that will be addressed at the regularly scheduled meeting includes an ordinance establishing the 2024 tax rate for the City of Glasgow, and the amending of the city’s zoning ordinance.

Also, five executive orders regarding Glasgow Police Department policy and procedure have been signed. These pertain to motor vehicle stops, arrests and searches of persons, dealing with persons of diminished capacity, and drones and unnamed aircraft.

The agenda also states that in closed session there will be deliberations regarding the future acquisition or sale of real property by a public agency, but only when publicity would be likely to affect the value of the specific piece of property to be acquired for public use, or sold by a public agency.
