Carmon O. Peay Jones, 100, of Bowling Green passed away August 25, 2024 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Butler County native was born July 31, 1924 to the late Harlan and Audra McCoy Peay. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ulan K. Jones, Sr.; and son, Ulan K. Jones, Jr.. Carmon was a member and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from Woolworth as a sales associate. Carmon was very active at her church; working in the food pantry, as a member of the Friendly Fellowship group, and Vacation Bible School. Carmon loved to go whether it was travelling, social activities, or time spent with family, church family, or friends. She loved her family and helped care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never hesitated to tell it like it was and speak her mind.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Monte Jones (Lisa) of Bowling Green, Melissa Law (Paul) of Franklin, Ky., Melinda Jones (Kevin) of Rocky Hill, Melody Gravil (Chris) of Alvaton, and Melanie Jones of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren, Eric Fuqua (Krystal), Morgan Jones, Alisha Poole (Jonathan), Brittany Knight, Emma Beatty, Casey Knight, and Brian Beatty; great-great grandson, Lewis Bowers; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery #2.
