On August 23rd, the Scottsville Police Department responded to a call regarding the welfare of a juvenile, which ultimately led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Scottsville resident, Jayden D. Poland. The initial investigation revealed that Poland had been communicating with the juvenile through Snapchat, with plans for the juvenile to sneak away from their residence.
Officers soon uncovered a more troubling aspect of the situation. Through their investigation, it was found that Poland had exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos with the juvenile. This revelation prompted further actions, culminating in a traffic stop where Poland’s vehicle was searched. SPD K9 Nova signaled a positive alert on Poland’s vehicle, leading to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Poland was arrested and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
The charges against him are severe, including possession of explicit material involving a minor, promoting the use of a minor in sexual performances, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
