The Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office has released its report on a house fire at 117 Hummingbird Ln., that claimed the life of 41 year old mother, Heather Berube.
When authorities entered the smoke-filled home of Berube the door to the bedroom was shut. Investigators said the fire had spread under the home in a crawl space.
Investigators found two holes on either side of the bed where the floor was burned through. A candle was found beneath the house, but is not conclusively the cause of the fire.
Carpet from the home has been sent for examination to see if there is the presence of accelerants. The autopsy report has not yet returned from the State Medical Examiner’s office.
In a statement Sunday, August 25 to WCLU, Major Terry Flatt to the Glasgow Police Department said the death investigation is still officially ongoing.
