Mr. David Herman Comer, age 70, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and formerly of Gamaliel, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Bowling Green. David was born in Monroe County on June 23, 1954, a son of the late Herman Jefferson and Ercie Molene (Morgan) Comer. David retired from The United States Postal Service in 2012, having worked several years at the Gamaliel Post Office. He was a member of The Moose Club Lodge and enjoyed hunting, and fishing, He was an avid UK Basketball fan.

He is survived by three sons; Jeremy Comer and wife Melissia of Oakland, Bryan Comer and wife Danielle of Tompkinsville, and Ryan Comer and wife Emily of Plum Springs. Two brothers; Joey Comer and wife Shirley of Plum Springs, Kevin Comer and wife Tina of Bowling Green, along with one sister, Janet Porter and husband Melvin of Lexington. Seven grandchildren; Kyle Comer, Laylen Comer, Lentley Comer, Blake Comer and Alyson, Austin Comer, Ciera Stockton and husband Trevor, Zachary Comer, one step-granddaughter, Lily Butler, and two great-grandchildren, Sidney and Ivy Comer also survive.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Jefferson Comer and Ercie Molene Morgan Comer.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel, with burial to follow in Corinth Gardens. Ryan Comer will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning after 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
