At approximately 7:00 am on Friday, August 16 the Kentucky State Police Post 03 was notified of a rollover collision on Interstate 65 at the 49.4 mile marker near Park City.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a red 2015 Kia Sorrento was traveling north bound on Interstate 65. The vehicle lost control and went off the left side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn and collide with a tree. A back seat passenger in the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. Another passenger in the vehicle was taken to TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow, where they will be treated for their injuries.
The investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen. He was assisted on the scene by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren County Coroner’s Office, Barren County EMS and other KSP personnel.
