In Bowling Green, two vital nonprofits will receive significant support to continue their work in keeping children safe and assisting at-risk families. Kosair for Kids, Kentucky’s most comprehensive children’s charity, is set to announce more than $75,000 in grant funding for the Family Enrichment Center and Kentucky Kids on the Block.

Both organizations play crucial roles in protecting children and are active participants in the Kosair for Kids Face It Movement, an initiative dedicated to ending abuse and neglect across the Commonwealth. The Face It Movement, in collaboration with nearly 200 partner organizations, has been instrumental in lowering the rates of child abuse and neglect throughout Kentucky. Since its inception twelve years ago, Kentucky’s ranking has improved from the worst in the nation to the 14th worst.

The grants being awarded to the Family Enrichment Center and Kentucky Kids on the Block are part of a larger initiative by Kosair for Kids, which recently approved 100 grants totaling more than $12 million. These funds will benefit organizations focused on healthcare, education, social services, and child advocacy, furthering Kosair’s mission to improve the well-being of children. The formal grant announcement will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, at the Family Enrichment Center on Adams Street in Bowling Green.

Kosair for Kids, which serves children across Kentucky and southern Indiana, continues to enhance children’s health and well-being through financial support for vital services. Last year, their efforts reached over 260,000 children, helping them to live life to the fullest. The Family Enrichment Center, established in 1977, has long been a key player in South-Central Kentucky’s fight against child abuse. With programs designed to improve parenting skills, educate on child development, and break the cycle of violence, the organization served over 3,500 children and parents last year.

Kentucky Kids on the Block, known for its educational puppet programs, works to teach children about acceptance and differences, while also providing community-wide education and prevention programs. The organization also operates the Higgins Center for Nonprofits, further expanding its reach in the community.
