Commerce meets camaraderie at the “Barren Biz Bash”

Aug 16, 2024 | 8:37 AM

Businesses small and large gathered at Ralphie’s Fun Center Thursday, August 15, for the “Barren Biz Bash” bringing together the local community of entrepreneurs and their prospective customers. The expo was put on by Barren Inc. with around 60 chamber members set up to educate attendees about their business, as well as network with their peers.

Maureen Carpenter, CEO of Barren Inc. commented on how events like this, are invaluable tools for members to expand their brands.

Business leaders and locals perused the various booths, taking in information about the entities that drive the area’s commerce.

The Barren County Family YMCA showed off the many programs that are ongoing and soon to come, most involving community engagement and family resources.

While business talks took priority, many individuals also used the chance to catch up or share notes with friends and colleagues.

Monticello Bank held one of the more unique engagement ideas, utilizing a “cash grab box” in which a person could spend the “money” they were able to snatch from the air on a variety of prizes.

7 Mountains Media, ever at the forefront of public engagement, was set to take advantage of the opportunity to network with local businesses.

Kids on the Block, who has been educating and delighting children for nearly four decades, was sure to make a welcome appearance at the bash.
