In recent weeks, a letter has circulated throughout the region from “CommunityPhone.org”. The letter makes superfluous claims that local telephone providers will permanently omit the landline option. In a public statement from South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative, they have addressed community concerns.
“We have been your communication provider for over 70 years. Our route started in telephone long before we branched out into television or Internet. SCRTC will continue to make the telephone one of our priority services,” said the statement.
They further stated they plan to continue the same quality services. they’ve always provided, and have no intentions of discontinuing landline services.
