Caroline “Carol” Cardwell Eilers, 82, of McDonough, GA passed away Aug. 13, 2024 at Edmonson Center.
The Edmonson County native was born in the then-booming community of Kyrock on June 10, 1942. She was a daughter of the late Julius and Lonis Basham Cardwell and the wife of the late George “Pop” Eilers. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Neal Cardwell and Charles “Jimmy” Cardwell and a sister, Madge Raymer.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM (EDT) Friday at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville. No other services are scheduled. Gravil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are two daughters, Vanessa Norton (James) of McDonough and Sandra K. Carroll of Louisville; two sisters, Peggy Johnson of Sweeden and Regina Billings of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Jacob Norton (Jordan), Tiffany Wilson (Brad) and Gabe Moore (Jason); five great grandchildren, Beau Norton, Emi Wilson, Brooke Wilson, Zachary Moore and Sawyer Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
