Beautify Barren County, a recently formed 501c3 non-profit organization rooted in the betterment of Barren County has planned a Beautify Barren County Projects Reveal for Aug. 22 at The Ole French Restaurant. The event will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m., with an official Beautify Barren County ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.
According to organizer Kylie Foushee, the organization is made up of 16 board members.
“Each board member pays a small fee to be on the board. The reason being, it shows a commitment to the community,” said Foushee.
The first fundraiser was held last fall in Cave City.
“Fundraising efforts up until now have been quiet,” Foushee said. “We are now ready to reveal what we have planned, and make our plans public. We will be showcasing designs for structures at welcoming points in the county, community entryway projects. We want to approve the aesthetics of the community.
The organization has already participated in several small residential and commercial improvement projects.
The reveal on Aug. 22 is open to the public. More can be learned about the organization on their Facebook page.
