Aug 12, 2024 | 6:44 AM

A Cave City man has been arrested and is facing charges related to gun possession after an incident at a local hotel.

The Cave City Police Department responded to a distress call at around 8:28 p.m. on August 6, reporting a woman screaming at a hotel on North Dixie Highway.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a man and a woman, both of whom confirmed that their argument had been verbal, with no physical altercation involved. The man was identified as 44-year-old Prince Fryar of Cave City.

Officers noted that Fryar, who was in the parking lot when they arrived, appeared to be intoxicated.

During their investigation, Fryar allowed officers to enter the hotel room. Inside, police discovered a 9mm handgun and ammunition in plain view.

As Fryar is a convicted felon, the possession of the firearm led to his immediate arrest. Fryar was subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Barren County Detention Center. He is charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
