Weldon Young, 96, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Sunday, July 21, 2024 at The Medical Center. He was a native of Warren Co. and was born May 2, 1928 in Riverside, KY. Weldon was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Connie Cherry Young. parents Karl and Hettye (Whittaker) Young, his brother Jason Young, wife Joan, his sisters Dixie Herrington, her husbands Darrel Herrington & Boyce White and Mavis Rue Allred, husband Rex.
Weldon was a retired farmer and was a faithful member of Riverside Christian Church. He also was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. Member of Bowling Green Masonic Lodge #73 F. & A. M.
Survivors are his three wonderful daughters Jane Rone (Larry), Judy Young (Mark) and Jill Bryce (John). Six precious grandchildren Martina Fee (Kirk), Daniel Young (Heather), Bryan Rone (Miriam), Ashley McGinnis (Jared), Kellye Dooley (Sean) and Holly Shuffett (Clayton). Seventeen precious great-grandchildren Kolton, Dawson, Alex, Baxter, Isaac, Ian, Reid, David, Jake, Bryce, Lane, Anne, John Clayton, Annabelle, Sutton, Millie and Rone. Special fur friend “Nemo” and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, 2024 11:00 am at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home and Friday 9:00 am until time services at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Christian Church Cemetery.
