Mrs. Evie Nell (Witham) Brown, of Albany Kentucky, formerly of New Castle, Indiana, passed away, Friday, July 5, 2024 at her residence in Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 87 years, 3 month, and 6 days. She was born in Albany, Kentucky on Monday, March 29, 1937, the daughter of Ed & Elizabeth (Dicken) Witham. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church of New Castle, Indiana. Evie was a member of the Mothers of Twins Club, and enjoyed her time gardening, cooking , and canning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wayne Brown, whom she wed on Friday, June 23, 1961, twin sister, Regina Bell Lewis, brothers, Edgar Whitham, Welby Witham, and Gerald David Witham.
She is survived by her children, Gary (& Lori) Brown, of Greenfield, Indiana, Mark Brown, of Albany, Kentucky, Lorrecia (& Tony) Legg, of Dallas, Georgia, Dena (& Michael) Goddard, and Donna Brown Hamblin, both of McKinney, Texas, siblings, Linda Owens of Somerset, Kentucky, and Jay Witham of New Castle, Indiana, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & many friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 12:00 Noon, C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Wells officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. C.S.T. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
