At approximately 1:11pm on Wednesday, July 3, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single vehicle fatality accident on Louisville Road at the intersection of Old Dixie Highway.
Investigation determined that Jeffery Denton age 55 of Glasgow was traveling southbound on Louisville Road. A witness stated that the Mercury passenger car that Denton was operating, veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree head on.
Denton was not wearing a seat belt at time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
