Dorada Hensley Hatcher

Jun 27, 2024 | 4:38 PM

Dorada Hensley Hatcher, 88 years old, peacefully passed away on June 26, 2024, at the Bluegrass Way Assisted Living Facility in Campbellsville, KY. Dorada was born and raised in Hart County Kentucky, and she made her home for 51 years with her beloved husband, Paul Douglas Hatcher, in Cave City, KY.

Dorada embraced her faith in Christ personally, having accepted Him as her Savior in a quiet moment of prayer in her closet. She devoted her life to following Christ faithfully and was a dedicated member of Servant Valley Baptist Church. She also worshiped the Lord in song alongside her brothers and sister in the Hensley Quartet for decades. Her love for the Lord and her husband was unparalleled, and she cherished her extensive family and many friends deeply.

Born to the late Everette and Helon Forbis Hensley, Dorada is survived by her siblings: Delores (and the late Randall) Nunn, Douglas (and the late Judy) Hensley, Deward (and Connie) Hensley, David (and Becky) Hensley, and Darrell (and Devonda) Hensley. She also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, and numerous other family members.

Dorada’s career spanned forty years as the Bookkeeper of Memorial & Hart County Schools, from which she retired. Known for her thoughtfulness, Dorada often sent cards and notes to express her love, though in later years, her ability to do so was limited. During a medical assessment, when asked to write anything she desired, she simply penned, “I love my family.” This sentiment encapsulates her profound affection for her loved ones.

Dorada Hensley Hatcher’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will be cherished by all who knew her. She has now entered her eternal rest, reunited with her Savior whom she served faithfully throughout her life.

Funeral Services will be held at the Servant Valley United Baptist Church on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Winn Funeral Home, and after 9:00 AM Sunday at the Servant Valley United Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery.
