William ‘Nicks’ Daniel, Jr passed away on June 19th, 2024, at the age of 90. He was a family man of quick wit, an avid outdoorsman, and a continual learner who was born in Dickson, TN, on July 22, 1933.
After graduating from West End High School in Nashville, TN, Nicks joined the Nashville Naval Reserve unit and served two years on the USS Tarawa in the Mediterranean during the Korean War.
Upon his return to the United States, he attended Tennessee Tech, graduating in 1957. He married Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Norris that same year, and they eventually settled in Bowling Green, KY.
For decades, Nicks called on drug stores across Kentucky and Tennessee as a pharmaceutical and medical supply salesman, gaining a thorough knowledge of the region and an appreciation for the beauty the area holds.
A longtime member of Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, Nicks was a well respected man of unwavering faith. His life was characterized by service to God, family, country, and community, principles which became his children’s legacy.
Preceded in death by his parents, William Nicks Daniel, Sr, and Pauline Nicks Daniel; his wife of nearly 50 years, Gerry Norris Daniel, and his sister, Sara D. Brabson.
Nicks is survived by his three children, Lynn Wakefield (Steve) of Brentwood, TN, William ‘Billy’ Norris Daniel (Trish) of Henderson, KY, and Julie Fouraker (Brian) of Thompson’s Station, TN, as well as seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
