Georgia Belle Childress age 87 passed away Friday morning at her home in Cub Run. She was born in Edmonson County on September 12, 1936. Georgia Belle was a member of the Hill Grove Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Everett & Cardelia Brooks Sanders.
Georgia Belle was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur “Red” Childress, a son Kevin Childress, a great-granddaughter Brystol and her brothers & sisters Orion Sanders, Elmer Sanders, Kenneth Sanders, Clorene Demunbrun, Inez Hill, Joyce Poteet & Carolyn McCombs.
She is survived by her daughters Debra Hawkins(Perry), Machelle Holloway(John) & Shannon Lanette Childress; grandchildren Travis, Jarrid, Lauren, Kyle, Darin, Dustin, Rhiannon, Faith & Hope and great-grandchildren Preston, Greyson, Braxton, Audrey, Sawyer, Monroe, Ada, Ellie, Addie, Isla, Cullen, Ashlyn, Kennedy, Scarlett, Brooks, Crews, Parks, Elise, Langdon, Brenin & Felicity; daughter-in-law Donna Childress Carroll.
A Celebration service for Georgia Belle Childress will be held at 1pm Monday, June 24th in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with burial in the Hill Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8pm and Monday after 11am until time for the service at 1pm at Sego Funeral Home.
In memory of Georgia Belle donations may be given to the Hill Grove Cemetery fund, these can either be left at the funeral home or mailed to Gary Bagshaw, 1471 Dickeys Mill Rd., Mammoth Cave, KY 42259.
