GLASGOW, KY – June is Dairy month in Barren County, as declared by Barren County Judge Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd and Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse. The proclamation was signed by county government at Tuesday’s fiscal court meeting, where a large crowd came to celebrate. With Barren County being the highest producer of dairy in the state, local farmer H.H. Barlow spoke on behalf of farmers in the community.

In other business, while 158 Barren County Parks & Recreation Little League baseball and softball games were rained out in the past few weeks, 151 of those games were rescheduled and played. Many of the rescheduled dates had to be rescheduled, again, due to the heavy amount of rain during the course of the spring. In doing so, Parks & Recreation Director Chris Jennings reported that the league took in over $28,000 during the month of May in combined gate and concession totals.
There will be a special-called meeting of the Barren Fiscal Court on June 27th at 8:30am.
