Jolly will step in to fulfill Field’s term

Jun 11, 2024 | 6:37 AM

GLASGOW, KY  –   On May 20th, 2024,  Circuit Court Clerk Krissie Coe Fields announced, via e-mail, that she had been appointed to a full-time position on the Kentucky State Parole Board by Governor Andy Beshear.  With that appointment, she notified WCLU News that she would withdraw her candidacy for re-election.  Fields officially withdrew on June 4th, last week.

Yesterday, WCLU News received confirmation that Fields’ opponent on the ballot, Julie Wright Jolly, was appointed by Circuit Judge John Alexander to fill the remainder of Fields’ term.   According to Jolly, she and Fields are the only two individuals who can qualify for the job, due to a required passing of a test on the manual that governs the rules and regulations of the office.

Jolly was excited to get started in this new role.

Jolly will have a swearing in ceremony at the Barren County Courthouse on Wednesday at 4:00 pm to be sworn in as the new Barren Circuit Court Clerk.  The event will take place in the Circuit Courtroom.
